" BANG BANG BANG" Pacquiao VS. Clottey

Mike Tyson, Ike Ibeabuchi and Oliver McCall cornered the market on scary/crazy over the last 20 years in boxing. HBO's Jim Lampley is trying to carve out his own niche. Lamps was a raving lunatic throughout the Manny Pacquiao-Joshua Clottey fight. Just over four minutes into the fight, he started complaining about the lack of activity from Joshua Clottey. Give him credit, he was ahead of the curve on saying Clottey wasn't there to fight, but it made it difficult to enjoy the match. The call of the fight turned almost entirely into Lampley complaining while Manny Steward and Max Kellerman tried to talk him off the ledge.

The wackiest moment came when Lampley just started yelling, "bang, bang" in the middle of the eighth round. Even when Kellerman tried to break in to save Lampley from a nervous breakdown in front of millions, Lampley continued to shriek, "bang!"

Give HBO credit, the network does allow its announcers to speak their mind. That said, the crew almost seemed angry going into the broadcast. The three lead-in fights weren't completely awful yet the announce team talk them down so much, the audience had no choice but to think the fights sucked.

It was funny to hear, Lampley change his tune from completely negative during rounds 1-10 to lauding Pacquiao for another brilliant fight. Someone must've whispered in his ear or it simply kicked in that it was time to start hyping what was next for Pacman. All in all, it was an interesting night of broadcasting.

Just when you thought you heard it all about athletes with guns, the "Plax" incident isn't even a year old yet and now we have this. Everyone give a nice warm welcome to the newest star "Athlete" or should I say "Idiot" Mr. Gilbert Arenas. Gilbert Arenas must not pay attention to the news or maybe he missed the entire Plaxico Burress case. Maybe he just thought that bringing guns into a locker room wasn't that serious. Maybe he thought that when his coach told him to work on his shot that he meant his "gun" shot. Or maybe he just didn't give a fluck and thought that his prank would be looked upon as some hilarious joke ala MTV "punked". Well Mr. Arenas I am here to tell you that you were wrong, not only was it not funny but once again you made the "Black Athlete" look bad. I hate to bring race into the picture but it is what it is. When you are black and getting paid millions of dollars you have a larger magnifying glass on you compared to the regular 9-5 brother or any person to that matter. I don't knock any Athlete for owning guns because after all it is one of the freedoms of our nation but only when you do it legally and when you aren't brandishing it at your place of employment in an attempt to be funny. Now Mr. Arenas will forever be known as the real Mr. Big Shot and he will probably never play basketball again but no worries Mr.Arenas you can always get a job at a gun shop, I'm sure you would get a great commission.

Only Built 4 Cuban Linx... was the debut album of Wu-Tang Clan member Raekwon, released in 1995 on Loud Records. It is considered to be one of the best hip-hop albums of the 1990s and a pioneer of the mafioso hip-hop genre for its story and creabilty of the drug lord life. Raekwon released Only Built 4 Cuban Linx...—originally to be titled Only Built 4 Cuban Linx Niggaz — as his first solo album. It was a diverse, theatrical criminological epic that saw The RZA move away from the raw, stripped-down beats of the early albums and towards a richer, cinematic sound more reliant on strings and classic soul samples. Lavish living and the crime underworld are referenced throughout, with the mystique of the Wu-Tang Clan deepened by the adoption of crime boss aliases and the crew name Wu-Gambinos. This album is commonly referred to as The Purple Tape because the original cassette's plastic was entirely purple. Raekwon made this decision because he wanted to make sure people knew his album, in a way similar to how drug dealers may mark their goods.Raekwon's solo album is widely considered to be one of the most influential albums of hip hop in the 1990s. In fact, it was one of sixteen hip-hop albums to be included in Pitchfork Media's Best Albums of the 1990s Redux list, and was listed as one of thirty-three hip hop/R&B albums in Rolling Stone's Essential Recordings of the 1990s list. In addition, Stylus Magazine called it one of the greatest hip-hop albums ever, AllHipHop.com called it "incredible," and fellow emcee Busta Rhymes regarded it as "one of the best albums ever." It was retroactively given a 5-mic rating from The Source magazine in 2002, and was selected as one of The Source's 100 Best Rap Albums, even though it was originally rated 4.5 mics in 1995.
